DOMAINE FONVIEILLE

The vines extend over the alluvial plain of Capestang, others overlook the Pech and the Canal du Midi. The whole range of wines is elaborated at the property: AOC Minervois, Pays d'Oc, Pays d'Hérault wines.
The family property developed towards the end of the 19th century but the purchase of the vines dates back to the 17th century (1760). On the initiative of Mrs. Fonvieille, wife of Joyeux, the first bottlings began in 1978 and were quickly awarded prizes at the most prestigious agricultural competitions: Paris, Mâcon.
The cellar of 400 m² on the ground is on the edge of the Canal du Midi but under the level and still includes wooden tuns of more than 300 hl.
Another particularity is that the tanks are made of glass tiles and not of cement or resin.
