CHÂTEAU PRIEURÉ DES MOURGUES

The Château du Prieuré des Mourgues is located in Pierrerue, a small village in the heart of the Saint Chinian appellation. It is a former property of the bishops of St Pons de Thomières. The vineyard (20 ha) is spread out on schist slopes, which immediately seduce by the beauty of their sites.
Jérôme Roger, from a family of winegrowers for several generations, welcomes you in this privileged setting to share his passion for wine. Visit the underground cellar where the red wines are aged in oak barrels for 14 months and enjoy a tasting session with the winemaker.

The vineyard benefits from an exceptional schistous soil.
Syrah is the dominant grape variety (60%). Grenache and Mourvèdre are equally distributed (20% of the planted vines).
The Château du Prieuré des Mourgues produces AOC Saint Chinian wines, Pays d'Oc wines and olive oil.
