Trout

Water is everywhere in our landscapes, making the Caroux Mountains a privileged place for fishing, with many excellent sites such as the lake at Saut de Vesoles, Lake Avène and Lake Ceilhes.

The river Orb

This river, more than 150 km long, has its source in the mountains of the Escandorgue and flows through Bédarieux, a popular spot with fly fishermen and lovers of good-sized wild trout. Further south, the tributaries Mare and Jaur flow into the Orb with their clear waters and offer some picturesque and varied fishing pitches. These Mediterranean rivers flow from significant elevation upstream and alternate between fast shallow streams and deep, slow moving potholes downstream. A number of other rivers in the region make the variety of fishing complete. A coarse fishing stretch between the Rieussec and Avene is available.
