Active in jazz and improvisation since the 70s. He studied at the Berklee School in Boston, USA, and helped set up the Jazz Department at the Toulouse and Perpignan Conservatoires. -Musical director of BigBand 31 and then BigBand Garonne. Co-founder and artistic director of the Jazz sur son 31 festival. -International tours as a soloist: China, Japan, USA, Europe and Scandinavia.
The theme of this album is based on the original reinterpretation of certain unforgettable French songs that were covered by jazzmen and other crooners to such an extent that they became part of the great universal repertoire and became what are known as standards. Philippe Léogé's piano vessel sails on the ocean of impressionism, dreaming of inner journeys in jazz and classical music
His third solo album, My French Standards Songbook, was named one of the 25 best albums of 2015 by L'Express and Pianiste magazine
